Rita + Andre's Wedding | New Beginning Full Gospel Baptist Church & Occasions Event Center | Atlanta Wedding Photographer

I first met Rita and her sister Shirley at a Borders, then a coffee shop, and then we bonded. She had found our little slice of the internet and wanted to talk a bit more about her wedding so we headed over to the Northlake Mall and set a meeting location of the Borders Bookstore (this of course was before they went bankrupt). Unfortunately this Borders didn’t have a cafe, so we quickly rescheduled and found the little coffee shop downstairs in the mall where we chatted and bonded. After exchanging more emails and phone calls we were selected as her wedding photographers.

Then I met Rita’s fiance Andre during their engagement session at Piedmont Park. Even during the drizzling Spring rain we had during their session we had so much fun just playing around and bonding. Seeing these two together and talking to them I knew immediately that their wedding would be equally as awesome, and when the big day came they didn’t disappoint.

The wedding’s first stop was New Beginning Full Gospel Baptist Church in Decatur, GA. The girls got ready offsite and headed over in the early afternoon to put the finishing touches on and slip Rita into her dress. The guys… were guys of course and got ready in about 15 minutes.

The time came and Rita walked down the aisle hand-in-hand with her father to an eagerly awaiting groom. She looked lovely in her flowing dress that perfectly matched her style.

Betty and I were both shooting this wedding, she got these awesome wide shots of Rita and her wedding dress while I snuck upstairs to take in the whole scene at the church.

After a beautiful ceremony, it was time…

After the ceremony we took a couple of quick photos in front of the church before we headed to the reception.

And here are the beautiful details at Occasions Event Center nearby. Lovely blue and white colors lit of the entire room.

Rita and Andre had a fun entrance planned for the wedding party which of course was to be expected, everyone danced their way into the reception to some funky beats by the DJ. The crowd of friends and family loved it, and so did we of course 🙂

Rita and Andre danced their way in and immediately went into the first dance.

…which quickly turned even more festive when Rita’s family joined them on the dance floor.

Things calmed down a bit at this point and we got to more “normal” wedding day festivities.

And we finally wrapped up the night with lots and lots of dancing! This was such a fun wedding!!
