Sorry for the delay in this blog post! I was sort of letting our previous post about yesterday’s Georgia Brial Show simmer as the top post on the blog for any new readers. Of course I couldn’t go the entire Monday without posting today’s blog on Michelle & Blake’s engagement session though! Better late than never? Sorry guys!!!
Ok, on to the magic! We had an amazing time with Michelle & Blake in Piedmont Park back in late October. It was one of those days when the previous week we were getting hammered with a cold front in Atlanta, and then suddenly on Sunday (the day of the shoot), temps were back in the 70s! I celebrated by wearing shorts to the engagement session… which put me a bit out of place when these two gorgeous people were just looking absolutely fabulous, but I was really glad to be out of jeans finally =)
We started the most perfect Fall evening with a walk along the edge of Piedmont Park down around the lake and then looped back around for an eventual rendezvous with the big hill in time for sunset.
Did I mention Winnie was with us too? They have a really cute pup that came along for the shoot specifically for a few photos. Well, Winnie was pretty anxious to run around on this beautiful Fall evening as well, so it was a bit tough for him to sit still. Luckily we had Michelle’s parents with us to be our dog wranglers. Winnie did give me a couple awesome poses though… in between being so excited to see his “parents” and have me stop photographing them for a bit =)
After playing with Winnie the dog a bit during the engagement session we made our way to the big hill in Piedmont Park as the sun started to dip a bit lower in the Atlanta sky. Michelle and Blake continued to be rockstar models and looked great in their second outfits!
As the sun REALLY set at the end of the evening we made our final stop for the night along Piedmont Park’s Active Oval with the full Midtown Atlanta skyline in view. With the warm air that came in during the day, we had one of the best sunset’s of the year with rich colors and swirling clouds in the sky. This strobist could not have asked for a better looking couple, location, and timing to all come together that October Sunday!
Thank you Michelle and Blake for being so genuinely awesome! We can’t wait to photograph your wedding later this year! And to any new readers thanks for reading, check back each Monday for a new Atlanta wedding or engagement session!
