This past Sunday was our first bridal show of 2012… ok, that is true but it was also our first bridal show, EVER! One of our goals for 2012 was to grow the business of course, and even with shooting 30 weddings in 2011 we wanted to be even busier in 2012! The Georgia Bridal Show at Gwinnett Center is the first on the calendar for 2012 falling on the first weekend of the year. All of the brides that got engaged in the Fall or over the holidays and are just thinking about planning the wedding were ready to start their new year off right as well.
Our booth was pretty humble I guess you could say. We ordered a lot of prints but didn’t have the large setup that some of the more experienced vendors there had. Also I hope Denise from Elite Events doesn’t kill me for posting photos, because technically their is a no photography policy but I think that’s for attendees and not exhibitors… plus I saw a lot of brides taking iPhone photos all day.
The pictures are not the greatest because the lighting in Gwinnett Center is pretty harsh in the exhibit hall and I wasn’t using flash to be a little more inconspicuous =). Betty is here ready to meet some brides!
We had our sample albums out, along with our iMac playing our wedding video trailer and blasting some upbeat dance music from Spotify (yay for free Wi-Fi!). As you can see from the back wall we had prints hanging up, and we ran out of room to hang them so we just started propping them up on chairs to display them. We had about 30 prints in the larger 16×24 size and many of them didn’t make the exhibit. Also you can sort of see from the above picture that I am holding our iPad which was loaded with full galleries from weddings to display photos taken at wedding venues around the Atlanta area.
Here you can see me talking to a bride. Traffic was very good, this was a really popular show. Tons of vendors for anything a bride would want from a wedding photographer to wedding cakes to floral decorations, this was a great way for brides to get ideas and meet vendors to solidify their plans for a 2012 Atlanta wedding.
Betty and I had a great time at the show and if you missed us last weekend we will be exhibiting again at the Cobb Galleria on January 22nd for the next Georgia Bridal Show! This first one was a great learning experience for us so hopefully the next booth looks a little better and we bring some food with us this time =) Stop by and see us again in person, we’d love to meet you!
