Kanwal & Ali's Engagement | Downtown Atlanta, MARTA, Centennial Park, Finger Painting | Atlanta Indian Ismaili Engagement Photography
This blog post is going to be actually two engagement sessions in one, but for the same couple hehe. With all of the great ideas we had for Kanwal & Ali’s engagement session, and the number of locations, it just made sense to split things up over two separate shoots. With this taking place in late December when things were a tad slower, only 2 weddings, it was easy on the sometimes hectic photography schedule as well. As Kanwal & Ali’s epic multi-day Indian wedding gears up for this weekend, it is a lot of fun to look back on the fun we had a couple months ago and know that this weekend’s wedding photography at Occasions and the Hyatt Regency is going to be amazing!
Our first engagement session started at the famed “Bridge to Nowhere” which is on the “wrong side of town” – that is, it was a bit sketchy where we parked and walking past more than one person who was camping out on the road. The three of us were trying to be brave and get the photos, which were worth the stress and worry hehe =)
After hanging out a little too long after sunset at the Bridge to Nowhere (but how could I say no to those colors!), we headed back to the other side of town to the iconic Jackson Street Bridge. It did take us a while to get there though, as you can sort of see in the background traffic was still pretty heavy on a Friday evening!
…after the bridge, we headed Downtown – well, more Downtown than we were before. And walked over to the MARTA station for some subway/NYC-esque photos!
And one more stop of the evening, Centennial Olympic Park! Kanwal changed into a Saree and Ali into a suit. Being that we took these photos in mid-December, the park was decked out in holiday lights and trees =)
Ok, on to Kanwal & Ali’s engagement – round 2! We went late into the night on the week before, and with the idea to do a finger painting engagement shoot that would definitely need some cleaning up afterwards, it just made sens to do things on another date. Before the crazy finger painting body painting could happen, we headed over to a nearby park for some more couple’s photos during the day this time. I’m really glad we did because we got some really fun photos and a different vibe from our late-night session the week before.
Randomly including the outtake photo where I was testing the light – thanks Ali!
Two separate frames, I made them jump a lot =)
…yes I apparently have a habit of catching people photo-bombing our pictures. See the final photo from Centennial Olympic Park above!
Alright, after a fun time at the park, we headed back to Kanwal’s house to get ready for the epic finger painting session! Be careful, I do save all of the outtakes when I’m testing light – those are some of the best photos! =)
Kanwal and Ali, I think you have officially broken the record for most photos taken and posted, at an engagement session! Thank you for the awesome times, and for feeding me well afterwards! I’m really looking forward to this weekend’s wedding!!!
