Trina & Shawn's Wedding | Wimbish House (Atlanta Women's Club) | Midtown Wedding Photographer
Yay! Finally time to blog about Trina and Shawn’s wedding at the Wimbish House! This wedding holds a special place in my heart because I used to work with Latrinee (Trina) back when we first moved to Atlanta at the Marriott. Of course the story goes that Baby Miles decided to come along and I went from being a part-time photographer and full-time corporate employee to being a part-time wedding photographer and full-time daddy! At least that’s what it seems when you are taking care of a newborn, even with focusing on photography full-time I spend way more time on the whole taking care of Miles, and that’s okay. Okay, back to Trina and Shawn! I admit it was a little awkward shooting their engagement session since I knew Trina so well but we still got a ton of amazing shots. With the bar set high I would expect nothing less during their wedding at a beautiful venue like the Atlanta Women’s Club – otherwise known as the Wimbish House in the heart of Midtown Atlanta! Oh, and did I mention that this wedding was the next day after Brandi and Bryan’s wedding??? Friday wedding in Athens, GA and then a Saturday wedding in Midtown Atlanta, that’s life at FengLong Photography!
Trina was a little late… like guests were being seated and she hadn’t arrived late, but we made the best of the situation! With someone as heartwarming as Trina you can’t help but smile and take everything in stride knowing that it will be all right in the end. We love you Trina!

Love the dress Trina! She looked gorgeous on her wedding day as a beautiful, glowing bride!

After quickly getting ready in the gorgeous rooms upstairs at the Wimbish House, Trina descended the grand staircase and made her entrance to the lovely appointed ballroom on the ground level. Ok, on to the ceremony!
With this ring I thee wed…

Ok getting a little ahead of myself now… Immediately after the ceremony and taking some family formal photos I snuck Trina and Shawn around the corner and to the gorgeous architecture of Midtown Atlanta’s high rises. They made the perfect backdrop for some dramatic modern photos photos of the couple. Couldn’t have asked for a better location than the historic interior of the Wimbish House and the modern exterior in Midtown Atlanta.

Did I say I loved Trina’s dress and that she looked even more like America’s Next Top Model than she normally does? (Trina probably weighs in at a whopping 90 pounds on a good day and is about 6 feet tall)
The details were simply amazing, I loved all of the colors that Trina and her wedding planner, Richara Russell, worked to pull together. The staff at the Wimbish House quickly turned the entire ballroom area from the ceremony location into the reception location and somehow was able to dress up all of these details in the short time we were shooting family formals and a bride and groom portrait session!

We now proudly announce for the first time, Mister and Misses Terrell Shawn McQueen!
The cake cutting was fun and only got a little bit messy! These two know how to have a good time and a lot of fun!
I had a great view of the bouquet toss and put on my wide-angle 16-35mm f/2.8L II lens on the full frame Canon EOS 5D Mark II to capture these shots, love the wide angle!!
And of course we capped off the night with a ton of dancing with Trina and Shawn’s closest family and friends!
Thank you Trina and Shawn for allowing me the privilege of capturing your beautiful wedding day! I had so much fun at the Wimbish House and on the streets of Midtown Atlanta!
