Sophear & Jake's Wedding | Oriental Pearl Seafood Restaurant | Atlanta Cambodian Asian Wedding Photographer

Woohoo! This was a long time coming and I’m not talking about Jake finally putting a ring on it, lol! No, I just mean that we’ve been having so much fun with Sophear and Jake before their wedding at our Bridal Session and Engagement Session that I sort of felt sad to bring the whole wedding production to a close. I’m still trying to convince and coordinate a time to do a trash the dress with Sophear so that we can do one more photo shoot! On to the events of the day, we had an amazing time at Oriental Pearl which is one of the anchors of Atlanta’s Chinatown in Chamblee/Doraville just North of the city. Friends and family chipped in to turn the restaurant into an amazing wedding banquet hall, you can tell how much this wonderful couple is loved by their friends.

One of the fun traditions at this Cambodian wedding was the multiple traditional outfits that both Sophear and Jake wore throughout the night. They started with the white and gold one seen above and then transitioned into a peach-colored dress.

After this this and once all of the guests had arrived, they changed into traditional Western attire with Jake donning a suit and Sophear into a white wedding dress. We then had a few speeches from family members, cut the cake, and had the first dance.

And then the feast started! I was sooooo hungry at this wedding! I think they had a SEVEN course meal, every time I turned around more food was being brought to the tables! While the guests enjoyed the awesome meal that Sophear and Jake planned for them they also made the rounds to each table to say “Thank You” in yes, another new outfit.

As the night wore on and the drinks kept flowing the dance floor opened up! What started as some traditional dancing quickly turned into Club OP (Oriental Pearl… ok that was a joke) once Jake’s brother Jot got ahold of the sound system. Out of nowhere a full mixer and Macbook appeared and things got crazy! =)

Thank you and congratulations you two! We had SO MUCH FUN at our three photo shoots (so far) this year! With the Winter cold weather coming and going in Atlanta this month I’m not sure we’ll be doing much outdoor Trash the Dress with Sophear but I hope we can do something next year in the Spring!

That’s a wrap for this blog post, Happy Holidays! I’ve got a few in the queue and will probably post at least one more before Christmas where I’ll be heading down to Florida to photograph a wedding on the 23rd and 24th, stopping to see the family in St. Petersburg as well. Miles, Betty, and her Mom will be snug up here in Atlanta trying to stay warm! It was a bit too much to ask Miles to drive down again after his travel experience for Thanksgiving.
