Snowcation in Hothlanta + New Premium Wedding Album Designs!
If you are a bride-to-be who lives anywhere near Atlanta I’m sure you feel our pain with this one. With the Snowpocalypse reaching Atlanta this past week the city shut down for almost the entire week, even here in Downtown Atlanta. Sunday night when the storm hit, I forced Betty to head over to Centennial Olympic Park so we could play in the snow.
The snow was coming down pretty hard at this point, the height of the storm. Not the inches and inches that the Northeast would get a few days later, for this Floridian who had never seen snow until moving to Atlanta, I surely got my fill!
The Northern suburbs of Atlanta clearly got it worse than we did, and luckily we are located only a few blocks from a MARTA station to still be able to get around. Being from Florida, I’ve never really driven on ice so I chickened out until Thursday before I did any driving and relied on MARTA to get around. Betty has the experience from Michigan but with Georgia State University closed most of the week as well, she stayed warm at home with Xiao Miles.
The reason I am excited to blog this week is that once the snow lifted we got our FedEx and UPS deliveries, one of which included our new Premium Wedding Album! The other is a top-secret project that will probably be the subject of another blog post next week and involves us further joining a “cult” that rhymes with “Crack” if that gives you a hint ^_^.
The week before I was hard at work designing layouts and going through that tough process of deciding what stays in and what stays out. With only a limited number of pages to work with, I needed to balance telling the story of the day with showcasing those memorable images that the bride and groom will lovingly remember.
Our new Premium Wedding Album is a giant step up in quality from our previous Standard Wedding Album. As a Wedding Album Designer, my favorite feature is the ability to print our images as spreads rather than individual pages. Both albums are professionally printed through our national printing lab, this album is their newest offering using the highest grade paper and printing techniques.
Two page spreads allow us to design both pages at once in Photoshop instead of individual 10×10 pages. The Standard Album still features a lay-flat design to allow for ease of viewing, but the high quality printing techniques for the Premium Album allow for one seamless 20×10 spread that is an instant crowd pleaser.
The craftsmanship also shines through with archival prints on heavy duty Pearl UV-coated paper. The pages have a sheen finish to them which makes the photographs pop off the pages. The pages themselves have substantial weight and feel to them making the Premium Album a perfect first heirloom for a new family.
Please contact us if you would like to see a sample of the Premium Wedding Album in person. Stay warm Atlanta!
