Anything Goes Wednesday - The Memorial Day Holiday Edition + Military Discount on Wedding Photography
So my Monday blog post went up on Tuesday, it’s only fitting that my Wednesday blog post goes online on Thursday :). With the holiday weekend we had here it only feels like a Wednesday, I mean can it really be Thursday already??? We had an action-packed weekend with two weddings, luckily Mom was in town to help take care of baby Miles while Betty assisted me on Sunday’s wedding. That took the stress off a little bit, but it was still a busy weekend!!!
This is Saturday’s wedding of Angela & Eugene which took place at the Thalia N. Carlos Hellenic Center in Decatur, GA. This was an amazing venue just North of downtown Atlanta in Decatur and is a Greek orthodox center that has the most gorgeous architecture! I only wish I had more time to photograph there, with the blazing hot Georgia Summer in full effect we weren’t outside much at all.
Quick preview of Sunday’s awesome vow renewal of Makeba & Floyd which took place at their home in Snellville. I absolutely loved Makeba’s wedding gown and gloves, such a nice touch and she looked gorgeous!
As I mentioned, besides these two weddings the weekend was filled with family and friends! On Monday, after sneaking over to Cafe Intermezzo for some coffee and brunch, Betty hosted a few of our friends for a good ol’ fashioned cookout… except we grilled with the Foreman Grill here inside our condo ;). If you’ve never tried it hotdogs taste almost as good as on a gas grill when you cook them on the Foreman – no lie! Jess and John brought over some great potato salad and appetizers from Your Dekalb Farmers Market (my fave place!) and we enjoyed some refreshing adult beverages for our late lunch cookout.
Linda was also in town visiting from Orlando, so it was great to see one of our old Orlando friends again! Of course, she had to visit to see Miles and how much he had grown. I took a few snapshots of Miles and his Auntie Linda.
After more relaxing and recovering, I also took my Mom and Mark downstairs to shoot a few portraits of the two of them since they hadn’t had a real photo together in a couple years. I used the same location I shot Rebekah & Lee’s photos (link to preview post) right across from our building beside Sidebar. That is really a great wall even if it’s the dreaded cliche brick wall, it works!!
Last but not least I wanted to end this blog post with what little we can contribute to our nation’s heroes. In honor of Memorial Day we are going to begin offering a 10% discount to all military personnel and local service men & women (police/firefighters) on all wedding packages here at FengLong Photography. This is our little way of saying “Thank You” for all of your hard work and dedication. Even though I did not serve myself, my family members did, and I think just about everyone in our grandparent’s generation served. Thank you Granddad Smith & Grandpa Long for your service during WW2 and thank you Uncle Rob & Aunt Mattie for your service (and for meeting us on Monday night for dinner!) more recently before retiring. Just mention this blog post or your service when inquiring and we will take the discount off of the package price. Email us today at FengLongPhoto@gmail.com to check availability!
