Sabine + Harry: United | Sunset Hills Baptist Church | Douglasville Wedding Photographer
Ack, I almost forgot about this wedding! And before you think, “dang Zac, you forget about your brides that quickly?” It’s not what you think! As Betty and I were sitting down eating lunch with Miles, I get a call “Hey, wanna come hang out with me at a wedding this afternoon to practice?” With our earlier shoot at Stone Mountain Park with Brandi & Bryan finished earlier that morning, I said sure and dashed home, grabbed some more gear, and hit the road to Douglasville to run second camera for the wedding videography and also snap a few photos here and there of course!

Since I was operating the video camera most of the time and not the still camera, I don’t have a ton of photos, but I always manage to shoot more than a few! I have a bad habit with that, must – keep – shooting! Sabine prepared for the wedding down the road at the Holiday Inn Express Douglasville before heading over to her ceremony at Sunset Hills Baptist Church.
One of the most interesting parts about this wedding, well and most weddings, it the chance to experience other cultures and traditions during the most special day of their lives. Sabine and Harry are both Haitian, so the ceremony itself was in Haitian Creole which I know maybe 5 words of from my days working in Housekeeping at a hotel in Orlando. These photos were from one of the coolest parts of the ceremony and something everyone understands: dancing.
After a fun-filled ceremony we headed out front of the church just as the sun was going down and took the all-important family group formals.
I love it when I catch these moments, it’s what I live for! The moments between…

We had time for a few quick shots of the bride and groom alone, I was filming some of this for behind-the-scenes but managed to take a shot myself when I posed them for this photo:
On to the reception!! I loved the colors that Sabine picked out for her reception, and well of course for the entire wedding itself! The bridesmaids all wore a lovely purple color that complimented the classic white wedding dress that Sabine herself wore. Here is one more quick shot of Harry looking dashing in his grey suit with purple accent bowtie! Classic and unique!
Ok, now it’s onto the reception!!
The reception was also held at Sunset Hills Baptist Church in their banquet room, which was catered onsite and featured some amazingly tasty cuisine! Yum yum yum! I’m hungry just thinking about it actually since I’m writing this on an empty stomach! Speaking of tasty things, the purple theme continued onto the cake with purple ribbons and flowers.
One last “purple” shot to round out the day! Thank you Sabine & Harry for having us to be your videographers and photographers! Even though I was manning the video camera I can’t thank you enough for letting me snap a few amazing photos of your amazing wedding!
