Happy Martin Luther King Day! Sometimes I forget about holidays until I see someone post something on Facebook because when you work from home, every day is a work day or a holiday – depending on how you look at it =). This wedding was definitely one of my favorite weddings of the year, not only because it took place in Orlando, Florida – our old home – but because of the people. After flying into Orlando International Airport at 9:00 AM (because we were at a wedding in Atlanta until 3am the night before…), we were greeted at the airport by one of Ryan’s groomsmen who picked us up and took us to downtown Orlando where the preparations were just starting. Karina and the girls were at the Grand Bohemian Hotel in Downtown Orlando, while the boys got ready at their apartment just down Orange Avenue in Downtown. Maybe it was the lack of sleep (1 hour or less, on the plane) or the extreme amounts of caffeine I drank that day (I can’t remember how many Monster energy drinks Ryan’s groomsman, Nate, was feeding me that day!), but the adrenaline high lasted all day into the night for a truly memorable wedding with it’s fair share of ups and downs. The bus to take myself and the girls to the church from downtown to Winter Park was about oh… an hour late due to some sort of accident on I-4, and we barely made the ceremony in time before the evening mass started. Everything worked out in the end and Karina and Ryan’s dream wedding pulled together without a hitch, thanks in part to the tireless efforts of their family and friends to not only keep things organized but to keep the newlywed’s nerves in check throughout the day with the delays =). Karina and Ryan, thank you so much for the opportunity to allow us to be such an integral part of your amazing wedding! Every time I am back in Orlando it is a very welcome return home, and this trip was unfortunately all too short with two weddings the previous two nights! 2013 and 2014 Orlando brides, please bring us back to Florida! We love to travel and come our previous “home” for 10 years =)

Reception at one of my favorite restaurants in Orlando, Ceviche! When Karina and Ryan told me that their wedding reception would be held here I was over the moon, and knew this was going to be a great day =)

Of course you know the reception is going to be crazy when the groom, who is a huge dance music fan, has the DJ play stuff from people like Swedish House Mafia and Avicii at the reception. It was like going from Latin Night to a Rave at times with an amazing eclectic mix, fun times!!

Also, you may notice that the editing on these was slightly different than my “normal” style, let me know what you think! I gave the bride and groom both versions, in our more typical style, and this slightly different style. Please excuse the bit of growing pains as I experiment with slight variations to creating even more amazing photographs that you will cherish forever =)

Lastly, here is the short travel video I made from Thursday and Friday’s wedding in Atlanta, flying to Orlando on Saturday morning, and then driving to St. Petersburg, Florida on Sunday morning for a crazy extended weekend of weddings and fun!
