Amy & Michael's Engagement Session | French Quarter & New Orleans City Park | New Orleans Destination Wedding Photographer
I know, I know, they just got married last week! Well, it’s finally on schedule to blog their engagement session =). Even though Amy is from Atlanta and this is where her parents live (which is why the wedding was held at Chateau Elan), she’s moved to more cities than I can remember throughout her studies! On of the questions that Mike had to answer on the wedding morning was to name all of the cities that Amy has lived in – and I was impressed that he remembered this expansive list with the exception of China, which I think he gets a pass for because she moved when she was really young. Why am I rambling on about this? Currently they are both students in Tulane’s medical program in New Orleans, which is why I made the trip over there for this engagement session! We would have done the engagement earlier when they were back in Atlanta, but the idea of creating photographs on the streets of the French Quarter where they live was a secret hope for Amy, and I was thrilled to make it happen for this wonderful couple. We started the evening, after an uneventful flight from ATL to MSY, by walking two blocks out of their apartment to the French Quarter in downtown New Orleans…
Here, stand in these bushes, it matches your dress!
St. Louis Cathedral at Jackson Square
Hanging out on Canal Street on the walk back…
A quick dip down Bourbon Street…
And then, to end the night we played in the streets with some lights
But wait, there’s more! The following morning before my flight, we all got up super early and headed over to New Orleans City Park for a few more engagement photos in a different setting. To say it was a bit humid is a huge understatement! They did great though, and Mike is an amazing guy for sticking through all of these crazy photo session ideas with Amy and I =)
Ok, I don’t really know why we went on the lion. I think I just saw the lion and said “Hey Amy, it’s a lion, you should go sit on that!” Well, that wraps up an amazing engagement session and my one night in New Orleans! It was a great mini trip on a weekday to fly in, shoot some amazing images in the evening, get up the next day and do it in the morning, and then still be back for dinner in Atlanta. I can’t wait to share their wedding photos here on the blog because it was a beautiful ceremony under perfect weather at Chateau Elan in Braselton, Georgia. Check back soon!
