This is shaping up to be a busy week and it’s only Monday! This weekend is Nasrine & Amir’s wedding which is a Pakistani + Indian union that will take place over three days at the 5th Avenue Event Hall at the Mall of Georgia in Buford and the bride and groom’s houses. This will be a crazy weekend with my Mom coming into town to take care of Miles while we are away and three days of wedding events – and I am super excited about that! Okay, enough about this week, I do not want to detract from our regularly schedule blog post which is Makeba & Floyd’s vow renewal at their home in Snellville, GA.
We started the day getting ready at the Days Inn Stone Mountain, with the guys fully suited up when we arrived, while the ladies were still getting their makeup and hair finalized. Seeing Makeba again really felt like we were part of their family as we originally started talking to Makeba in the middle of Betty’s pregnancy at the beginning of 2011 so it almost feels as if Makeba went through labor with us!
After we finished getting ready we all headed over to Makeba & Floyd’s home in Snellville, GA just a few minutes away. To say they have a nice property in an understatement. Pulling up to the winding driveway and climbing the hill that leads to their lush, green property is magical. That it was decorated expertly by Violaine of Andre Winfrye Events made the experience even more special.
The fabulous Violaine Diogene herself with our bride, Makeba!
As time ticked down and a few more quick touch ups from our awesome make up artist from Airbrush by Mason, we were off and running!
The ceremony itself was very nice as a small intimate gathering of Makeba and Floyd’s closest friends and family against the green backdrop of their wonderful property. After a super quick family formal portrait session it was time for the reception already! Everything was expertly coordinated by Violaine as many new guests arrived for the reception and the wedding party prepared to see just how amazing Violaine had transformed their back yard area into a chic wedding reception lounge. Photos of detail shots galore!
As the sun set on a warm sunny day in Georgia, the lights came on and you could really notice all of the attention to detail.
Even though this was a vow renewal we still had many of the same activities as a normal wedding would have such as first dances, speeches, cake cutting, and a bouquet toss to a lucky lady. Guests mingled and danced while enjoying some great food.
Thank you again to Violaine of Andre Winfrye Events for coordinating everything and to Makeba and Floyd themselves for choosing us at their photographers.
