Brandi & Bryan's Wedding | Foundry Park Inn & Spa | Athens Wedding Photographer

I first met Brandi right before Miles was born at the start of the year… wait, we never actually met Brandi in person! Brandi was finishing up her studies to become a dental hygienist and at the same time planning an out of town destination wedding in Athens. She’s a busy girl working, going to school and planning a wedding when Bryan has to travel frequently for work, so I can understand her desire to get as much squared away early as she could.

Ok I lied we actually did meet with Brandi and Bryan once before their wedding when we met up at Stone Mountain Park to photograph their engagement session. When we arrived on Friday in Athens we had plenty of time to hang out with Brandi and the girls and Bryan and the boys with plenty of time before the wedding, getting to know them and their family a bit better.

The girls had their own suite at the Foundry Park Inn and we were really impressed with the size and decoration of the room which was more like a timeshare condo we would see back in Orlando and not what you would normally think of as an “Inn.” Both sides got ready REALLY quick so we jumped outside for a few portraits of the lovely bride and her bridesmaids before the weather changed.

I jumped over to the guy’s room on the other side of the complex and checked out what they were doing while shooting a couple group photos of them hanging out together, putting on their boutonnieres (all florals by the super-talented Elysse Lewandowski of Blooms Flowers & Gifts), and just being boys.

Betty stayed with the girls and continued taking some additional portraits of the girls with Bryan while I was still with the guys whom were joined by Brandi. Brandi is a great planner and scheduled plenty of time for both sides to have portraits taken individually and with the opposite party (bride and groom) all while not actually laying eyes on each other on the day of the wedding.

Brandi wanted to keep things very traditional and not see each other before the wedding so we didn’t do a first look but were able to do a “first meeting” and still keep them hidden from each other.

Betty and I were rushing through some of these photos because as is normal for a Georgia Summer… a storm was a brewin’! Right before the ceremony was scheduled to begin the skies opened up and a torrential downpour started with some pretty scary lighting as well. Luckily this was only a semi-outdoor wedding, scheduled to take place at the covered pavilion at the center of the Foundry Park Inn.

Before we headed to the ceremony Betty and I grabbed a couple more photos of the lovely details and Elysse’s floral designs.

The staff rolled down the rain flaps to keep the wind and water out, and everything started as scheduled. This was a challenging lighting situation from a photographic perspective because it was pretty dark and the vaulted ceiling was really high.

After the lovely ceremony we headed into the banquet hall at the Foundry Park Inn which was beautifully decorated for the occasion. Check out some of these details:

During the reception we briefly stole Brandi and Bryan away and tried to make the last light but it was already really dark outside. We took a few quick portraits of the newlywed couple outside now that the rain had stopped.

Such a fun reception with Brandi and Bryan’s friends and family!

Even though they may not want to admit it, Brandi and Bryan both know how to get D-O-W-N!!

One post-wedding image, their wedding album arrived this week so it’s the perfect excuse to write this blog post now :). I custom designed Brandi and Bryan’s wedding album using a 10-page layflat seamless spread design with a modern, clean white layout. The final album looks gorgeous printed out.
