Ashley & Gaurav's Hindu Indian Wedding | Poco Diablo Resort | Sedona Arizona Destination Wedding Photographer
Where do I begin! Betty, Miles (yes, he came too), and I had a great week out in the American Southwest that was first kicked off with Ashley & Gaurav’s AMAZING Hindu Indian wedding ceremony at Poco Diablo Resort in Sedona, Arizona. The stars really aligned for this great couple, as they were living in St. Joseph, Michigan at the time when Ashley began planning the wedding to take place closer to Gaurav’s parent who live in Phoenix. The stars aligning part came about because Gaurav was just about to start a new job in Phoenix right before the wedding! With a move across country imminent, Arizona turned out to be the perfect place for Ashley and Gaurav to begin their new life together with the culmination of the wedding festivities by holding the Hindu Indian ceremony in Sedona. The three of us flew into Phoenix on Friday to join the family at the Mehndi party at Gaurav’s parent’s house in Chandler (suburb of Phoenix), before all of us headed North to Sedona where the wedding would take place. Waking up the next morning in Sedona was pretty magical, and a sign of the great day we had ahead of ourselves.
Poco Diablo Resort has a really beautiful golf course that overlooks the famous Sedona red rocks, which was exactly where the Hindu ceremony would take place.
Quick candid of Betty =)

Yes, Miles was with us all day and became part of the wedding =)
Finishing touches on the bride
I tried to convince Gaurav to ride an elephant for his Baraat but I don’t think we could find one even if we wanted to up in the mountains of Sedona =)
Bride’s entrance with her step-father and brother.
Family photos!!
Fionna and her husband, thanks for assisting with the photography and holding lights for me both of you!!!

The next little one coming…
As the guests headed indoors to the reception, we hung around the golf course for some bride and groom portraits with the Sedona red rocks as a background!

Mother/Son Dance at the start…
…before the Bhangra started!!!
After the main events were over (Cake Cutting, Dancing, Speeches, etc.) the dance floor was opened up and we partied all night long!
The boys enjoyed a cigar outdoors:
By the end of the night we were all wiped out, but I had a great shot in mind that Ashley and Gaurav were totally on board with! So the three of us jumped in the rental car, with Fionna and Ali right behind us, and we headed down the road to the scenic outlooks of Bell Rock and Cathedral Rock (I think… correct me if I named the wrong vista!). The air was so crisp and clear that you could see the Milky Way with your naked eye! Of course not as vivid as with the camera but in the pitch black darkness you could definitely see it. Love these two portraits with the Milky Way and the bride and groom!
And that wraps up another one of our amazing destination weddings! Betty, Miles and I stayed out in Arizona for a few extra days to visit the Grand Canyon and surrounding scenic area of the American Southwest. Our stay was too short because we had to be back in Atlanta to shoot more weddings the following week, but the time we spent there definitely made a return trip necessary! Once I get caught up with my wedding editing I’ll post some of the travel photos from Arizona. Thanks for viewing this wedding!
