Summer Vacation | China Trip 2015 Day 4 | Min Tai + Jimei
This is another quick Vacation post here on the ol’ blog, a break from all the Indian weddings and engagements and traveling back and forth from New York to Atlanta! Day 4 of our vacation we headed to the outskirts of Xiamen to find Min Tai, an old ancient town that was turned into a tourist destination and then fell into misuse. Long gone are the buses of tourists to see some of “old China” but the locals are still hanging out on the streets of Min Tai, and the temple itself is still functioning of course. Interesting place to visit, not sure it would make my “Top 10 Sights of Xiamen” but interesting nonetheless! After spending the morning at Min Tai we stopped by Jimei, which is sort of a Northern suburb of Xiamen just across the bridge. Here we visited my mother-in-law’s old elementary school, which is now the “Chinese Language and Culture College of Huaqiao University.” As usual, all photos shot with the Sony A7ii that I took with me on this trip!

Miles exploring the streets of Min Tai old town with us.
Min Tai Old FIlm Museum! Don’t think it’s in use any more…
Smaller temple at the back of the town.
From here start the afternoon trip to Jimei, after a lunch stop in Jimei of course!
Walking the empty campus of Chinese Language and Culture College of Huaqiao University, since it was Summer break we only saw a few international students still around.
