New York City Engagement Session | Reshma & Anup | Central Park, Brooklyn, High Line
Here’s a totally out of order blog post since it was just a couple weeks ago, but I had some of the files ready for blogging so I figured why not?! This was one of my favorite engagement sessions because it was typically New York crazy! Rain and Summer NYC crowds didn’t hamper our enthusiasm during this shoot and we took a true tour of New York from the top to bottom of Manhattan to really show Reshma around on her trip up here from North Carolina!
Our day started amidst sprinkling rain at the Dream Hotel near the High Line. As I met them at their hotel they had made some quick arrangements to take a few photos at the rooftop bar before it opened that evening.
After our quick New York City rooftop session at the dream hotel we headed uptown to the middle of Central Park for some of the classic locations like the Bethesda Terrace and Bethesda Fountain, before strolling through the main “Mall” area of Central Park and taking in some of the rock outcroppings with the classic New York City skyline.
After a crazy cab ride where we stopped at a diner for the driver to use the bathroom, after our Uber driver dumped us, we finally made it back downtown to the High Line pretty close to where we started the day at the Dream Downtown!
After the High Line we grabbed a quick dinner at Chelsea Market, which had some great vegetarian options at the pasta places! Of course with the light rain everything was packed… and well, it’s the weekend in Manhattan so I didn’t really expect it not to be 🙂
To get to our night time location in Brooklyn we hopped on the subway, so of course we took a few fun photos at the platform with the trains zooming by!
While we usually plan our engagement sessions to swing by Brooklyn at sunset to see the NYC skyline light up, I am definitely glad it did super cloudy and rainy for our shoot to allow us to get some more unique photos in the rain! We had a good mix of light rain and hard rain, because you need the rain to be coming down enough to show up in the photos but not so much that we all get soaked at Brooklyn Bridge Park 🙂
Lastly, we headed back to Manhattan for some quick final shots in Times Square just for novelty sake, and so I could catch my train home out of Penn Station!
Thank you Reshma for coming up from North Carolina, and Anup for coming over from New Jersey :). With how much fun we had together I can’t wait for your Indian wedding this year in North Carolina! Thank you for spending the day with me in New York City showing you around and getting some awesome pre-wedding engagement photos!
