A non-wedding post to mix things up on the blog! This is more of an expanded post from previous contest announcement with Hijab-ista a few posts ago. Now that the photos were published on Zuleykha Magazine, I can share some more of them here too! More about the shoot, we had previously planned to shoot in the evening “Golden Hour” when the sun was lower in the sky for some of that awesome warm light. Of course this being Atlanta, the weather had other plans for us with imminent rain on the forecast. Our model, BabyLailaLov, was only in town for the day before they all headed off to another show themselves. So we had to make this shoot happen and set out for Midtown Atlanta much earlier in the day to attempt to beat the rain. This being Atlanta again… it ended up pouring on us in the middle of the shoot =). We battled the clouds, midday Sun, and rain to pull off some really fun pictures though! I had a great time with the ladies of Hijab-ista and hope we can collaborate again when they release their next line of hijabs!
…and then in rained!
These jumping photos to show off the Aladdin pants were probably my favorite photos from the shoot, not that the others weren’t good, I just love the dynamic energy in them =). Also, it was a lot of fun having Nura jump around while we tried to get the timing and angles right =)
Thank you so much to the ladies of Hijab-ista and of course to our model, Nura! I’m used to photographing amazing brides and grooms, so to do a “fashion” shoot like this was a little out of my comfort zone – which is a fun challenge =). You can view the article on Zuleykha Magazine here:
To view the videos from this shoot again, here is the promotional video I filmed at the same time in between photos:
…and the fun behind the scenes video of all of the other footage I had =)
Thank you again to all of the wonderful people that made this possible:
