Yay, back to wedding posts!! Even though the last few week’s on this blog we have been showcasing some of the engagement sessions and bridal shoots we did over the end of Summer, rest assured that we were still shooting weddings almost every single weekend! Just counting the weddings alone (and not the few more Bridal Portrait Sessions we did), I’ve got NINE (yes, 9) more weddings to post here in addition to the one we have this weekend and 2 more in December!
Ok, back to the post! Cherice and Chris were married at Villa Christina, and got ready right down the street at the Hilton Garden Inn Perimeter Center. Villa Christina is one of those wedding venues that I always hear about but never had the chance to shoot yet, so I was grateful for this opportunity to check out what the fuss was about. But first, we had to get ready for the big day!
I take that back, we didn’t actually spend much time at the Hilton Garden Inn, instead the girls and the guys put the finishing touches on at Villa Christina itself. I loved this moment of father and son getting ready next to the wine racks.
In between traveling from the guys downstairs to the bridal suite upstairs, I took a peek into the reception hall and checked out the fabulous pink details that Cherice had chosen for her big day.
As I entered the bridal suite, Cherice was almost ready and getting some help from her girls putting the finishing touches on.
As the time drew near, we all ran downstairs to Villa Christina’s signature lush green courtyard for the ceremony. Being a late August wedding, August 27th to be exact, it was still pretty warm for the afternoon ceremony but luckily we had a nice breeze to cool things down a tad for the guests and wedding party!
And of course, they jumped the broom!
After the ceremony we immediately took the family formal photos and then had a bit of time for the bride and groom formal portrait session around the grounds of Villa Christina.
The reception took place inside one of Villa Christina’s ballrooms and easily accomodated the large number of wedding guests that traveled to be there with Cherice and Chris.
Matron of Honor speech:
The wedding MC had some wedding guests play a game of Couple’s Musical Chairs to the delight of both the players and spectators.
As the evening went on we had a dance-off between one of the groomsmen and the ring bearers to some Michael Jackson music, hence the dance moves =)
Some more dancing and then the bouquet toss after the bride and groom changed clothes.
Finally Cherice and Chris made their exit out of Villa Christina with all of the girls carrying parasol umbrellas and the newlyweds made their way to their honeymoon!
Congratulations Cherice and Chris, I had a great time at your wedding and loved celebrating with you two! Have a great week, one more wedding this weekend before a break until December! 2011 is drawing to a fast close but still a ton more weddings and engagements to blog about all Winter long!
