Brittany & Jarrett's Wedding | Peachtree Christian Church & Wahoo! Grill | Atlanta Decatur Wedding Photographer
Just in time for designing their album, here is a super fun wedding from Memorial Day Weekend to be featured on the blog this week! This was wedding #1 of 2 for Memorial Day weekend, and we did a double header last year too… and have already booked up Memorial Day weekend 2013… So, just a hint to future brides, send me an email as soon as possible for first dibs on Memorial Day weekend 2014 =). It seems like I met Brittany and Jarrett ages ago at the Georgia Tech Starbucks to talk about their wedding, which was a destination wedding of sorts for them, well, for the bride anyway who is a super-smart PhD Student slash PILOT (what!!) and is current residing in Texas. Jarrett is also one of the coolest guys I know as well and they are a perfect match for each other with their humor and love for the GT Yellow Jackets (which you can check out from their engagement session through this link). Talking to Betty about this now, I still can hardly believe the schedule we did for this wedding. The weekend before we were in Sedona, Arizona for a destination Hindu Indian wedding, spent a few extra days traveling seeing the Southwest, and then flew back home in time for a double header wedding weekend for Memorial Day. Whew, what you’ll do for the love of photography =). The wedding day started at a venue that I’ve shot at before and wouldn’t mind shooting at again, the gorgeous Peachtree Christian Church right in the heart of Midtown.

Betty and I then split up to take some photos of the girls and boys separately around the church.

Then, we swapped the bridesmaids and the groomsmen, without doing a first look. I found this cool corner of the church, that even though their were windows everywhere, with the afternoon glare the bride and groom couldn’t see each other as long as they didn’t pass the conveniently marked lines on the floor =)

I thought this was a fun casual shot of the bride and the boys in the church pews

The girls back together about to get this wedding started!

Love this candid of the father of the bride peeking in on the church as the guests began arriving

My view from below as I ran downstairs as fast as I could after the first kiss

And Betty’s view from above which is more “epic” with a wide angle lens to take in all of the beautiful church

The wedding party

We then made our way to the reception venue, Wahoo! Grill in Decatur… which just became one of my new favorite reception venues! It was really amazing, even with the restaurant still serving patrons inside. We had a smallish reception that took over the outdoor area but I thought it was really beautifully done.

This frame was about the funniest thing ever, totally didn’t ask for them to do that and I think when Brittany realized that I hadn’t got out of the limo yet to take the picture we were going for the three of us all started cracking up =)

What I was actually going for originally =)

Ok after the cocktail hour the real reception started!
