Another edition of Atlanta Streets Alive! We have gone to most of the previous editions of Atlanta Streets Alive (first link is 2012, second link is May 2013), and this past weekend (yesterday) we had a Sunday free from weddings and tried to take full advantage of this amazing festival! Unlike the one earlier in the year in May (light rain), the weather was amazing the entire time and saw much bigger crowds gather along Peachtree Street. Also, much to our delight, their were plenty of events in Woodruff Park which is closer to our end of Downtown Atlanta as well so we didn’t have to travel far with Miles for him to enjoy the family zone activities. After Miles played with some chalk art and got a balloon animal made, he was feeling a bit tired riding his push bicycle, so we threw his bike in the trailer while Betty and I biked along a closed Peachtree Street from Downtown to Midtown! The warm weather meant a lot more life on the streets and everyone clearly had an amazing time! I just can’t wait for the next one now! Here are a few photos (also posted to Facebook) taken with the Olympus OM-D E-M5 while cycling Peachtree!
Also, I hooked up the GoPro Hero 3 to the handlebars and made a short time-lapse video of our ride from Downtown to Midtown if you want a 40 second recap of what the streets look like =)
Thank you Atlanta Bicycle Coalition and the City of Atlanta! Wonderful event again!
