Angela & Eugene's Wedding | Thalia N. Carlos Hellenic Center | Decatur Wedding Photographer
First a quick personal note, Betty and I are exhausted!! We just wrapped up Amir and Nasrine’s three day Indian wedding at 1:30 AM last night (Sunday) meaning we didn’t get home until 2:30 AM this morning. With baby Miles waking up around 7:30 AM each day that means we only got about 5 hours of sleep after a full weekend of activities! This post is coming together mid-day on Monday as we slowly get back on track… On to the wedding!!
Angela and Eugene held their fun-filled wedding at the Thalia N. Carlos Hellenic Center in Decatur, GA which was a really cool venue. When I got off the exit from I-85 I thought things looked familiar, as this exit is the same one we take to go to our Southeastern Photographic Society meeting each month at Briarcliff Baptist Church. As I pulled up the the center I was immediately struck by this massive center in the middle of all of the trees in a Decatur neighborhood.
I just love the light baby blue color that Angela chose for the bridesmaids and the groomsmen. Everyone just looked amazing in the colors that perfectly complimented the decor and elegance of the couple. Angela began getting ready and looked stunning in the dress that is pictured above.
Even Mom was dressed in blue and looked amazing next to her beautiful daughter.
The ceremony was held in one of the halls which provided ample space for the ceremony and all of the guests that had gathered. Keeping with the theme of blue and white, Angela came down the aisle escorted by her two Dads and made her grand entrance.
After a heartfelt ceremony we headed off to take a few group photos with our wedding planner and her team helping to come up with some poses and locations for the newlywed couple.
It was another hot Georgia day, even at the end of May. We only took a few quick photos outside and the entire wedding party, myself included, were VERY happy to head back inside and cool down during the reception. The wedding party took a brief stop at the bar before heading into the reception and I captured a few fun moments.
The reception was held in the hall next door to the room where the ceremony was, but we had MUCH more room for all of the attending friends and family to spread out and of course for some D-A-N-C-I-N-G!
As the night got on the dance floor really started heating up as you will definitely see in the upcoming photos as we wrapped up the evening and another super-fun wedding! I honestly love each and every wedding I go to as no two are ever the same even if the basic structure (preparation-ceremony-reception) is more or less the same. The ceremonies each have their own touching moments and emotions, the receptions are ALWAYS a blast with the many family members in attendance and unexpected surprises.
Eugene’s Mother was tearing up the dance floor and keeping up with those young kids like a professional!!
Finally the couple made their grand exit via sparklers held by all of the guests in attendance at the wedding. Using sparklers has become a pretty popular tradition this wedding season for sure and for good reason, it’s fun and has a powerful effect!
That’s it for today! As I mentioned at the beginning of this post we are now starting the process of culling and archiving the 200+ gigabytes of photos and videos we took over the weekend. I love the videography side of weddings but man do they produce a lot of data! I just ordered another 2 terabyte hard drive to fill up as the new one I bought 2 months ago is already full from our busy Spring wedding season!
