Fusion Jewish Indian Wedding in the Florida Keys at Hawk’s Cay Resort

This fusion Jewish Indian wedding kicks off in my home state of Florida and was an awesome way for all of us New Yorkers to have a winter break. And this was not just a cool fusion wedding but also a destination Indian wedding as everyone in attendance was from New York or New Jersey, yay for getting away from the cold Northeast in Winter! Not that December was particularly cold this year, it’s still warm right now in January with very little snow! Taking off from JFK in New York in 40-degree weather and landing in 70-degree weather in Miami, Florida was more than welcome! This blockbuster destination Indian wedding only had 2 days on the main schedule, buuuuuut 2 days of an Indian wedding, especially a fusion Indian wedding, means a lot of events and a full weekend! The wedding formally kicked off Friday morning at Hawk’s Cay Resort in the Florida Keys with Ronnie’s Puja ceremony, also called the Haldi or Vidhi ceremony where Ronnie’s gets a little messy to bring out that glow for the wedding :).

Garba/Sangeet Night

After getting cleaned up and a slight break, the evening event at Hawk’s Cay was the Garba/Sangeet night event. Originally intended for the outdoor pool area, the Florida weather had other plans for us and decided to bring a mini monsoon right as they were setting up the tables. Brittany and the Eventrics team got everything moved indoors and the family and friends partied hard to make up for any venue change!

In the interest of everyone’s safety from the lightning, and to keep us all dry, we moved indoors to the Oceans ballroom at Hawk’s Cay Resort, but not before taking some portraits with Ronnie and Benny outside their villa at Hawk’s Cay!

Garba/Sangeet night is always so much fun, everyone is having a great time and no one is super exhausted yet from the full wedding ceremony :). Their was plenty of good times and of course some awesome performances throughout the evening with families and friends.

Ronnie’s friends and family put on some fantastic Bollywood performances for her and Benny on Friday night. Bridgewater represent!

Indian Wedding Ceremony

As if those were not enough photos from a wedding, we have not even gotten to the wedding(s) themselves yet! Saturday morning started with a few small ceremonies and then the Hindu wedding, which was moved indoors due to the previous night’s storms down there in the Florida Keys. The weather did look gorgeous outside but the late night call to build the mandap indoors was already in effect by the time the clouds broke. We still managed to sneak down to the beach area at Hawk’s Cay for some quick outdoor portraits of Ronnie & Benny after the Indian ceremony before they were whisked away to change outfits in preparation for the Jewish ceremony.

After our morning puja, it’s time for the Hindu ceremony to begin! Benny and his family were greeted in a traditional Milni ceremony by Ronnie’s parents, and the Hindu ceremony had begun under the mandap at Hawk’s Cay!

And with the Hindu ceremony complete, we are halfway done with this Fusion Jewish Indian Wedding at Hawk’s Cay Resort in the Florida Keys! We had an always too short break to run down to the sand bar area for portraits in 15 minutes or less as always! Luckily the skies and weather cooperated at least for the afternoon ceremony. Would it hold off in time for the Jewish ceremony?

Jewish Ceremony

Ok, halfway there, Hindu wedding ceremony complete – on to the Jewish wedding ceremony! With the weather looking up by midday the wedding was back on track to be outdoors! As you will see from the photos the storms did start creeping back towards the Florida Keys during the end of the ceremony. High winds were blowing us all over the place but we all survived – and stayed dry until we could make it indoors to the reception. I’m getting ahead of myself now, this story of Ronnie and Benny’s fusion Jewish Indian wedding at Hawk’s Cay Resort picks up a few hours after the Hindu ceremony as every gets ready for part 2 of the day’s events.

Reception

Now it was reception time! DJ Rewind with MVP DJs really had the place hopping! From the Jewish Hora ceremony to the open dancing, the Hawk’s Cay ballroom was moving all night long!

And that about wraps up this amazing 2 day Jewish Hindu Fusion Wedding at Hawk’s Cay Resort in the Florida Keys! We had so much fun down in the Florida Keys working with all of the other amazing vendors to make this New York couple’s dream wedding come true in spite of the rough Florida weather we got during this December weekend.
