Personal | Chinese New Year 2013 | Hot Pot & Atlanta Chinese Lunar New Year Festival
Happy Lunar New Year! Happy Chinese New Year! Gong Xi Fa Cai! No, we don’t live in Chinatown – and Atlanta doesn’t have all that large of a Chinatown – but we are still keeping the tradition of the Spring Festival and celebrated Chinese New Year this weekend. I think it was just more of an excuse for us to pig out on Hot Pot and dress Miles up in his outfit that Waipo (Grandma) bought him =). For New Year’s Eve we had a hot pot feast with Betty’s classmate, a visiting professor from Chengdu, along with her husband and niece.
All photos taken with the Olympus OM-D E-M5…

After our Saturday wedding, we relaxed a bit on Sunday and headed over to Atlanta Chinatown up in Chamblee where they were having a Sunday festival with lion dance, dragon dance, singing, cultural activities… and of course lots of food! We grabbed a few snacks and taro bubble tea, but Miles was most interested in watching the colorful lion and dragon dancers! Again, all photos were taken with the mini Olympus OM-D E-M5 =)

Lastly, when we got home we took one more photo of Miles to send to Betty’s Mom (Waipo) of how big Miles has grown this year for Chinese New Year! (This time photos with the usual Canon 5D Mark III camera).

Hope you got a red pocket this year! Wishing you and your family a happy, healthy, and prosperous Year of the Snake!
