Last weekend was a very fun and exciting weekend with so much going on. With Tunes and Balloons on Saturday and the 2011 Georgia Marathon on Sunday, the real highlight of the weekend was our engagement session with [removed] on Sunday evening in Piedmont Park.

The weather was overcast and slightly cool, while maybe not your ideal day to spend at Piedmont Park, this is actually great photography weather! We started our session at one of my favorite places: Lake Clara Meer, which is the little lake right off of 12th Street on the South side of the park. [Removed] instantly warmed up to the camera and were strutting their stuff in no time.

Their love story culminated at the Babyface concert when [Removed] finally popped the question. Even with all of the goofing around and playfulness these two show, they are also truly madly deeply (ok sorry I just had to add that) in love! We started with a few classic posed photos on the swings before they were totally down for the idea of a jumping shot off of the swing! 🙂

When we first met this couple a few months ago [Removed] was still living in Orlando, and that’s when we made an instant connection reminiscing about the good ol’ days in the Sunshine State. Luckily, a few week’s before this session [Removed] was able to get a transfer with his firm up to the Atlanta office.

Oh and did I mention I think [Removed] is a secret model on the sly? Hey [Removed], did he ever tell you what he REALLY did before you two met??? These guys were both professionals in front of the camera, giving me their best “Blue Steel” look and striking poses that could be mistaken for a GQ magazine!

I love that the Cherry Blossoms are in bloom this time of year. Even though the city doesn’t have an official Cherry Blossom Festival like Macon (see last week’s Tunes & Balloons post) or an iconic one like the Cherry Blossom festival in Washington, DC that we went to last year, you can still see bits of this Springtime tradition here and there in Atlanta.

We stayed mostly on the South side of Piedmont Park walking through the hills and enjoying the stunning views of the Atlanta Midtown skyline. These photos make me wish Spring would come here in full bloom to make the grass bright green. We were happy to sacrifice some green for perfect 65 degree weather, a little on the chilly side for this Florida native I’ll admit 🙂

Have I said yet that I love this couple and they are just a pleasure to work with??? These guys are so much fun and so much in love!!

Straight out of the pages of Vogue magazine…

[Removed] dance to their own rhythm… Their was a group of musicians playing steel drums and other African instruments, and instantly when [Removed] heard it he said the music got him moving, so what did they do? Start dancing in the middle of Piedmont Park, isn’t that what everyone does?

One last fun shot, football (ok, soccer for us Americanos) is another of [Removed] passion. When the sound of the distinctive kick of the ball was heard in the distance he started getting distracted and headed over for a quick kick.
