Elizabeth & Greg's Wedding | Transfiguration Catholic Church & Hilton Marietta | Atlanta Wedding Photographer
Our first official wedding of 2012! Well, last week you saw the awesome Pakistani wedding we photographed on New Year’s Eve, and which ran slightly into 2012 since we ended at 1:00 AM, so Elizabeth & Greg were the first couple whose wedding began in 2012, there, does that make sense? =) And what is it now, halfway through March and we’re just blogging a wedding from the first weekend in January? See, that’s why I started doing the whole “Recent Work” series of blog posts, because we are soooooo behind in writing full blog posts with a super busy 2011! That being said, I definitely have enough content to keep things active around here even with 3 or 4 weeks of no photo shoots in our “off season.” Of course I say “off season” with a grain of salt, three shoots coming up just this week alone, eek! Ok, on to this super fabulous wedding! The day started fairly early at the Hilton Marietta Hotel & Conference Center to check in on the bride and groom getting ready…

As the girls headed off to the church with me, Betty snuck out with the guys to take their portraits together around the church grounds.
Meanwhile I was with Elizabeth and the girls putting on the finishing touches!

Time to get this show on the road! Some last minute advice for Greg…
…and here they come!
Greg’s first look of Elizabeth and she rounded the corner with her father, one of my absolute favorites for the raw emotion in his eyes. Awwwww… =)
Why settle for one exit at the end of the night when you can have two? Elizabeth and Greg first had a bubble exit out of Transfiguration Catholic Church on their way back to the Hilton Marietta for the reception. Fun times!
We then posed for a few photos in front of their 1966 Rolls Royce that drove them from the church back to the hotel. Very cool old car =)
After taking these few photos out front we moved to the back of the hotel to take some group and then individual portraits just as the sun was setting, so we were perfectly timed for everything! Thanks Elizabeth and Greg, it makes a huge difference as I’m sure you can tell, everyone is just perfectly glowing with a nice warm light from the setting sun which was going down just behind them.
I then dismissed the wedding party to go grab some drinks and held back the bride and groom for some last portraits during the final minutes of sunset which provided gorgeous light! Elizabeth had this awesome Winter coat which she didn’t get a chance to wear, so we took a few photos with it anyway. Last year during the first week of January we had snow in Atlanta, and this year it was about 70 degrees that day during a warm spell. Perfect weather for a wedding!

Finally we all moved indoors and cocktail hour(s) was still in full swing! First, a few details from the ballroom setup at the Hilton Marietta Hotel:

Love those last two candid photojournalist shots of the bride and groom hanging out before making their entrance. Speaking of which, let’s get this wedding show started again as Elizabeth and Greg made their grand entrance and into the first dance of the night!

Live music! This band, Livin’ Large, was awesome!
Now for one of my favorite parts of the wedding day, the RECEPTION!!! And let me tell you this reception did not disappoint! Even topping out with 200+ guests, all of Elizabeth & Greg’s friends are just super amazing and fun to be around! Everyone was laughing and having a great time the entire night as we danced the night away. The two open bars could have helped, lol!
Oh yeah, all of that happened before the bouquet toss. I forgot we had to do some official wedding events too =P
Yes, Livin’ Large was a lot of fun! Highly recommend them if you want a live band!
No, I have no idea what Greg and his buddies were doing here either…
Mother of the Bride in green.
Finally, Elizabeth and Greg made their second departure, this time to sparklers leaving the hotel. Congratulations guys!!
SUPER FUN wedding! We were exhausted after a long day of dancing and partying but it was so worth it. 14 hours never flew by so quickly =)
