Anything Goes Wednesday: Weddings, Newborns, Commercial Work...

Weekly random blog post, this week: clothing commercial shoot, wedding preview and newborn photography

This week has been catch-up week for me after a super-fun wedding at Red Top Mountain on Saturday. Apologies in advance for this blog post, please skip it and read the next one that makes much more sense. This is “Anything Goes” Wednesday and today’s post is just everything that is running through my brain!

First, a quick reflection on the weekend. So yeah, what happened with the traffic on Saturday? I guess we don’t get out enough to see the signs that they were doing roadwork ALL WEEKEND on I-75 which meant it took about an hour to get from Midtown to 285 once I-75 and I-85 split. Luckily I always leave myself time to get to weddings but this traffic jam ate up what spare time I had to eat lunch on the way! Once I made it past 285 the construction cleared and it was smooth sailing all the way to Cartersville but closing 3 lanes on any road in Atlanta is a little ridiculous! Enough about that wedding, here is a quick preview before the official blog post on Jennifer & Derek’s Red Top Mountain Wedding.

Then on Sunday we visited our friends Wei and Thierry who wanted us to take some baby photos of their newborn, Leo, who was born a month before Miles was born! Again, going to save this one for an official blog post but here is yet ANOTHER sneak preview. Awwwww… Miles and Leo together!!! Miles is American/Chinese and Leo is French/Chinese… who’s cuter??? 🙂

AND THEN… On Monday I was shooting some more product photography, but not clothing this time. I was shooting some cufflinks and other assorted jewelry using a macro lens and a tripod for the most part, with some light diffusers to soften the bright flash.

So that has been our week so far, it’s good to be busy! Their is no real point to this week’s post and it definitely falls under the category of “anything goes Wednesday” because I had a few things on my mind but not real unifying thought other than being busy 🙂

Today (Wednesday) was nothing photo-related but we had an awesome late-lunch appointment with a secret project that I hope to be able to share next Wednesday when it gets posted to CNN.com – yup, CNN! Did you know I was published in The Wall Street Journal? That article was about Social Media, this one is also near and dear to my heart because it’s about cats!

Betty is presenting at her first conference on Saturday at CIMaR 2011: The Consortium for International Marketing Research. Wish her luck as she presents a paper at the Saturday morning session with her PhD advisor/professor. She was at the opening reception this evening at the Intercontinental Buckhead hotel while I was stuck at home with Miles editing wedding photos – actually that’s nothing to complain about, we had a fun “boy’s night” right here editing photos and watching Netflix. Speaking of Netflix, we watched Tron: Legacy last night and I thought it was awesome! I’m such a sci-fi nerd that even if it was bad I didn’t notice in the slightest, I thoroughly enjoyed the film.

Ok we are getting more and more off track here so I’m cutting this post short for now. I need to practice writing exercises where this actually makes sense, but that is another blog post!
