How could you not love a face like that? Awwwwwww…

Miles is 6 weeks old this week, and is finally moving up in clothing sizes and diapers. He recently moved up the Pampers “1” diapers from his Newborn size, and he’s finally outgrown his 0-3 Month clothes. Um, he’s six weeks old, how can he be too big for 3 month old clothes?!?! The other main benefit is that now he has graduated to real clothes, and stuff that is cuter than the newborn sizes which were mostly solid colors. His grandmother (my Mom) got him this panda outfit which was just too cute once we finally put it on him. We just HAD to whip out the camera and take some photos of the little guy 🙂

And one without the hat for good measure.

Besides Miles occupying 80% of our time, I was able to sneak in the final edits to Jennifer & Derek’s wedding. We are at about day 11, so that’s not too bad I guess since we’ve been giving those two lovebirds sneak previews on Facebook all week. Well in advance of the 4 week promise but I’d love to really blow their socks off with 10 days. Maybe next time! These past few days have been super stressful with Miles though, he just needs to be held constantly in order to sleep. So when Betty is in class and I’m on Daddy-duty I literally just stand around holding Miles for hours on end, getting nothing done! :'( Photos like that make it all worth it though 🙂

Speaking of Jennifer and Derek, here is yet ANOTHER sneak preview of their photos which will definitely hit the blog on Monday. Chris and I were playing around with textures, and for some photos it works, others it doesn’t. I’m still not totally sure that I will incorporate textures into my workflow as it’s honestly tedious work to keep working on a photo to still not get the result you were envisioning in your head. For this photo, I think it works. I’m still an advocate for classical photo techniques, when you look back at your wedding photos 20 years from now you want timeless photos – not something showing the current trend of the times.

Which leads me to the next section, getting that classical look and a well-exposed photograph. I met up with Nina Parker of Nina Parker Photography this afternoon in Memorial Park near Buckhead. GORGEOUS location, this is definitely a hidden gem in the city! I would love to take a bride and groom there or even an engagement session! Nina and I were just playing with lighting techniques and talkin’ shop about photography in the park, trying to work with the many branches and patches of light that were coming through in the park. Using a speedlight connected via Pocket Wizards, I took this photo of Nina using the following settings on my Canon EOS 5D Mark II: ISO 100, f/4.0, 1/250 using the Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L lens.

So that wraps up the Anything Goes Wednesday post for this week! We have a wedding coming up again this weekend which looks to be UH-MAZING, stressful and busy, but amazing… just the way I like it! On a personal note (do I even need to say that?), Betty and I have been watching a bunch of Bollywood movies on Netflix while we are holding Miles. We highly recommend “Chak de! India!” about the Indian women’s field hockey team. Tonight we are watching “Wake Up Sid” and yesterday we watched “Dostana.” Dostana was okay, it’s a Bollywood movie in South Beach, Miami, but without any songs and a definite “American” feel to the film. Wake Up Sid isn’t too bad, sort of a love story and coming of age story. Still searching for that perfect film. If you have any Netflix Instant recommendations, send them our way! We have a lot of down time with the baby 🙂

[…] or the X-Men?) and finally pulled together our next photoshoot after the one I did with Nina alone a few weeks ago in Memorial Park. I guess it’s only fitting that this week Nina was in California so I met up with Matthew, […]

Miles is stinkin adorable in that outfit. LOVE the hat, but the hair is cute, too. But who’s that much less-cute person at the bottom of the post? She’d probably look better in a panda hat. Just sayin’. Thanks for coming out today–it was good.
