Anything Goes Wednesday | Master Cleanse
This is a two-fold title today for Anything Goes Wednesday, since we’ve been working on two cleanses this week. The first is our website and branding cleanse, if you have not visited our main portfolio site recently head on over to http://www.FengLongPhoto.com and see if you can notice the changes! The most immediate change is our new logo design, which took us forever to finally decide on! I want to sincerely thank all of our poor “test subjects” that we sent the logo samples to, in the end I followed Betty’s advice and went with my heart and chose our final design which is a slight variation of one of the very first design submissions!
Along with the logo change, we are slowly changing things around on the website as well. Gone are the confusing photo categories and they are replaced by simply “Favorite Moments, Real Weddings, and Real Engagements” – easy to understand, nothing to guess at what you will find inside. Even at the writing of this blog post on Wednesday July 13th, not every page is updated and the blog still needs some work. Always more to do… it’s not a glamorous lifestyle of just shooting beautiful brides and grooms every single day of the week!

The second part of our “cleanse” theme is a diet cleanse! Betty and I just watched the documentary “Sick, Fat, and Nearly Dead” on Netflix and that was just the kick Betty and I needed to help reboot our diet. Now, we may have been a bit influenced by our close friends Jess and John who did the actual “Master Cleanse” diet right before their vacation, but we thought a good cleanse was in order. Now, we’re not juicing like in the film, more of a paleo diet which is basically what he is advocating: shifting your nutrient intake from processed food back over to nutrient rich fruits and vegetables.
So far so good, Wednesday is day two after a shopping trip to the Dekalb Farmer’s Market to load up on fruits and vegetables. I think I have a headache from the lack of sugar, and we’re not big sugar fanatics but I love my flavored coffee creamer! Black coffee is just not nearly as much fun – or as tasty. Overall we weren’t eating all that bad, it’s just those small choices here and there like buying a half gallon of Publix Coconut Ice Cream or drinking too much Coke Zero that adds up. We’re enjoying the boundries that we are giving ourselves to force us to make healthier choices, and I think Betty just likes any excuse to eat more watermelon =).
Sorry for the lack of an exciting or interesting Anything Goes post this week, besides heading over to the Chattahoochee and Midtown to do some location scouting for upcoming photo shoots we have not been all that active this week. Last weekend we really didn’t do much but this coming weekend I have a wedding in Watkinsville just outside of Athens on Saturday and then Sunday we will head over to Wei’s house in Marietta so that Miles and Leo can have a play date and us grown ups can relax a bit.
