Wedding Photography Behind the Scenes Vlog #11 | Asheville Blue Ridge Mountains & Atlanta’s Old Fourth Ward Engagement Sessions

Behind the Scenes Vlog Travel

Second vlog in a row of double cities in the same weekend, at least this weekend I was not going as far as Atlanta and Detroit! Staying relatively close to each other, the first Saturday engagement session was up near Asheville, North Carolina along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Then, on Sunday morning I then drove down to Atlanta for another great engagement session in and around downtown/midtown Atlanta! Two great couples in engagement sessions in two great cities, come along for another Indian wedding photography behind the scenes vlog and another short blog post here for content, woohoo! ;)

The Blue Ridge Parkway was amazing, I had always wanted to do some sort of “mountain engagement session” and even though our plans for somewhere exotic out West like Big Sur in California or the deserts of Utah and Nevada, getting out of the main cities on the East Coast was certainly a treat! Yeah Asheville has the Biltmore Estate, but look at those views from the Blue Ridge Parkway! Epic mountain engagement photos incoming! For the last photo in this teaser we even snuck out at midnight for a 2am attempt at the Milky Way for some star portraits… but those clouds from earlier never really went away and it was really tough to see the stars yet alone the Milky Way on this Summer night.

Day 2 on Sunday as seen in the vlog, was a trip down to Atlanta from Asheville. It’s not that bad of a drive down there, about 3 and a half hours or so along back roads for most of the time. On another hot Summer afternoon we headed out to Historic Old Fourth Ward Park across from Ponce City Market for some outdoor photos before trekking around Midtown and Jackson Street Bridge before ending the evening near Atlantic Station.

These photos were also my first set to be edited with the just-released DVLOP presets after much trial and error and clicking and clicking and clicking… I was hyped up for the Dual Illuminati profiles and other tweaks from the big name wedding photographers in this initial batch of presets, but upon actually using them they don’t really fit my current overall style and I feel it would be too jarring to switch from a more contrasty vibrant Indian Wedding style to these presets straight out of the box. So these photos above in the second set (not the first) are a blend of the DVLOP presets and my previous settings to bring back some of the skin tones and colors that work well for the warmer olive skin, maybe these work better on pale white Americans, but I rarely take any photos at American weddings :). Maybe I’ll write up a quick review of the 3 DVLOP packs I bought in a future blog post if I have time… and judging from how late even this vlog blog post is, that might be a while :)
