Tasneem & Ali | Pithi Sangeet Night at Al-Noor | Atlanta Ismaili Indian Wedding Photography

Today’s wedding blog feature is another Summer wedding from earlier in this year which took place at Al-Noor Banquet Hall in Atlanta, Georgia! This is a newer banquet hall in the Norcross area of the Atlanta suburbs. Easy access to a large space, what’s not to love? Tasneem and Ali came down from Chicago for their Ismaili wedding weekend in Atlanta and we had the honor to be able to capture the fun and festivities with their families and friends. The first night of this Atlanta Indian Wedding was the Pithi and Sangeet night at Al-Noor, and we kicked that off with some pre-Pithi portraits in my favorite location – the parking lot! :)

After some quick parking lot portraits, we headed to my 2nd favorite location, next to the dumpster on the side of the building!

And then it was time to actually kick off the wedding so away we went indoors for the Pithi ceremony part of this Ismaili Indian wedding!

After the Pithi ceremony is everyone’s favorite part of the evening (besides the Groom I guess), egg ceremony! So messy but so fun! :)

After a brief break for the bride and groom to change and dinner to be served, it was time for the entertainment portion of the evening as Sangeet night got into full swing! Great performances from the family, friends, and the bride and groom themselves for this rockin’ evening!

Full Wedding Part 1 | Shairoz & Dimpu’s Hindu Ismaili Fusion Wedding Mehndi Garba | Atlanta Indian Wedding Photographer
Here is another amazing wedding from the end of 2013, Shai & D's fusion Ismaili/Hindu wedding which took place at Mughal's Banquet Hall and Gallery Events of Atlanta! First up was the amazing Pithi and Garba night which was held at Mughal's Banquet Hall. First was Shai's pithi ceremony where her family and close friends feed the bride sweets and shower her with rose petals as part of the Ismaili Muslim tradition. Next up was the Raas-Garba for D's side where the family participates in group Gopi dances and the guests use dandia sticks in the dance. The blend of both cultures was an amazing mix of energy and love in the room, now on to the ...

2012: Photography Year in Review – Engagement, Bridal, Travel, Landscape, etc!
Thanks for viewing yesterday's year-end wrap up post where I chose a bunch of my favorite wedding photographs from the year's 37 weddings. So, rather than devote one blog post solely to engagement photos and one post solely to bridal photos, here is one giant "Miscellaneous" blog post for anything that is not a wedding photograph! To see a sampling of the 2012 wedding photography year in review click this link or scroll down on the blog =). And now, in no particul ...

2012: Wedding Photography Year in Review
It's that time of year again, to look back and reflect on another CRAZY year of weddings! We traveled as far as Playa del Carmen, Mexico and Sedona, Arizona for weddings and as close as 1/2 mile away to the Atlanta Marriott Marquis which is right around the corner from us and could literally walk to! It's been a really good year though, with more wonderful brides and grooms, and lots of growth as a photographer. Posts like these make me reflect on just how much we've improved since those early weddings to where we are now, and also to where we are going. Looking back, 37 seven is the magic number this year - THIRTY SEVEN WEDDINGS! That's not ...
