Sydney Australia Destination Indian Wedding | Natasha & Karim’s Pithi at Parra Villa Function Lounge
After the Mehndi and Pre-Wedding photo shoot, we really got things kicked off with the civil ceremony in the morning and the Pithi ceremony on Wednesday evening! The civil ceremony took place at Parramatta city hall and later in the evening we all reconvened at Parra Villa Function Lounge in downtown Parramatta, so I had a free late afternoon to myself, woohoo! I took a quick train to downtown Sydney for a few hours to see the sights of Australia, but first – the civil ceremony in Parramatta!

Satada Luncheon in Parramatta
After we all grabbed lunch, and thanks for taking me out guys!!, I jumped on a quick train from Parramatta to downtown Sydney! Public transportation is pretty darn good in Australia and to get around Sydney and the surrounding suburbs, making it very easy for us tourists. And speaking of tourists, I did the normal tourist stuff and kept to the Circular Quay area of Sydney Harbour since my visit today was being cut short by the evening’s Pithi ceremony.
Being a tourist like everyone else…
Taking in a view of Sydney Harbour…
…and of course I saw plenty of other tourists taking their own photos
After being a tourist for a little while it was time to jump on a train back to Parramatta and get to work at the Pithi Ceremony!
The Pithi ceremony is probably one of the most exciting and photogenic parts of an Ismaili Indian wedding, because it’s a pretty unique event whenever I talk to other South Asian brides who may not have even heard of it before. This evening was pretty mild compared to others we have photographed, as the eggs only made an appearance at the very end and that was about the extent of messy things that got put on Karim =)
Natasha and Karim cleaned off and changed for the second half of the evening’s reception
Miss India 2013 =)
As always, check back later in the week for most photos from this Sydney Australia destination Indian wedding! We still have the Nikkah, dinner cruise in Sydney Harbour, photo shoots, and Satada to go! =)
