Summer Vacation | China Trip 2015 Day 6 | Wuyi Mountain Hiking

China Travel

Day 6 of our China Summer Vacation series! We started with exploring the natural beauty of the Wuyi Mountain area which is a famous area in China for the mountain range. Basically a National Park like we have in the US, super popular with tourists for it’s beauty and clean air… and of course it’s tea! So yeah, tea is huge in China, very hard for me to find some morning coffee anywhere in China but especially here in Wuyi where tea is king :). For our Sixth day in China we began exploring the hiking trails of Wuyi, winding through the mountains and next to tea growing freely next to you. Today on Day 6 we did some light introductory trails, only a couple of kilometers with minimal hiking… more to come!

In the morning we saw Betty’s cousin Pei-pei briefly before she was off to study some more!

Caught up with a tourist group as I got closer to civilization at the end of the trails, apparently I took the long way around! An unmistakable sight in China, wearing heels everywhere, even on a hiking trail in the mountains!

Another unmistakable sight in China, pre-wedding photo shoots in any scenic location! We saw this every day we passed this access portion of the river, and everywhere in Shanghai as you will see in an upcoming blog post from that part of the trip!

And that was our first day in Wuyi! Lots of hiking, lots of natural beauty, lots of tea! More to come!

Summer Vacation | China Trip Day 13 | The Bund Shanghai
The final day of these China Vacation blog posts! I can finally get back to weddings so that you don't have to scroll so far in the blog to see actual New York and Atlanta Indian weddings :). Day 13 was our final day before heading home to New York from Shanghai, and we wanted to take Miles to the Bund since I had pretty much gone by myself each time and it was always at night when Miles should be sleeping. Crowds were still there during the day, and the couples taking wedding photos were still there of course! Family photo with a self timer on the Sony A7ii using one of the light poles as a tripod stand :) Daytime long ...

Wat Florida Dhammaram Temple – A place for colors
After we fell in love with photography, we fell in love with colors. So looking for colors around us becomes part of our day to day task. Then when we heard about this Thai temple- Wat Florida Dhammaram, we had no hesitation to go there to search for colors. We ran into the monk when we just parked our car. We said Hi and carefully asked for permission to take photos inside the temple. Very generously, he not only allowed us to take photos, but also modeled for us. (Well, we did not ask him to sign a release!!!) We were amazed by the color of the temple, and of course, Zac shot many HDR. We would recommend any photographers going there for ph ...
