Wait, I thought this was a blog about wedding photography??? Yes, you would be correct, this is not turning into a food blog and 90% of the posts will be the weddings and engagement sessions I photograph around Atlanta and destination weddings worldwide. However, in our attempt to drop our own newborn baby-induced weight gain (at least that’s my excuse), past fabulous bride Jessica tipped us off to a local chef here in Atlanta who offers pre-cooked packages meals called PreMade Paleo. And since our brides always look amazing on their wedding day, I figured talking about this cool diet option could be beneficial to upcoming brides and grooms looking to slim down even further by their wedding day.

So what is PreMade Paleo? Basically it’s pre-cooked meals that are frozen and you simply re-heat in boiling water and you’re ready to go! The benefits of this over simply getting Lean Cuisine is that the food is locally prepared in Atlanta, is fresh and gourmet, follows the Paleo diet, and tastes amazing!

If you are unfamiliar with the Paleo Diet, think of it in terms of an older popular diet, the South Beach diet. It’s not so much a “diet” but rather a lifestyle change of eating healthier more natural foods. You can read about the Paleo Diet more over on Wikipedia, but the foods are all natural meats and veggies centered around the types of foods that would have been available to our ancestors who didn’t have modern conveniences like Starbucks (refined sugars) and McDonald’s (processed meats and white bread).

The meals are far from just a cut of beef and some broccoli of course, here are some sample menus from weeks past:

Grassland Pork Carnitas
Grassland Burger with Spinach and Mushrooms
Grilled Sweet Potatoes
Creamy Broccoli
Swiss Chard Salad

We love the program not only for the chance to diversify our menu from meals that we would never cook ourselves, but also the convenience factor of not having to think up menus each week! For lunch and dinner during the week we simply open the freezer, pick a protein and 2 sides, boil some water, and a few minutes later have a chef-prepared meal ready for us!

We highly recommend checking out PreMade Paleo! Some dishes are a little healthy even for my taste at times, but Betty and I have both lost weight already having our portion controlled for us and eating healthy for once instead of giving in and ordering take-out when we don’t want to cook. The cost is also very reasonable and pretty much what would spend each week on meals anyways.
