Our First Trip Together

Travel

It is a make-up post for our first trip ever together. The saying is that if a couple can get along well in a trip, then they can get along well in their marriage. So we were nervous, but of course, we got along super well.

Woman is always the one deciding the direction, so I decided going to Savannah, GA for a short road trip.  I always saw introduction in TV and was intrigued to see this old town. On the way to Savannah, we also stopped by St. Augustine, FL, a beautiful harbor city by Florida east coast.

St. Augustine is a very nice beach town with buildings of south-American style. We wondered around for two hours and then headed over to Savannah.

Travel | Tokyo, Japan Day 2 – Ueno, Asakusa, Harajuku, Shinjuku, Meiji Jingu
Day 2 in Japan was a little less crazy than day 1, I wasn't quite as hardcore about shooting time-lapse every second of the day so I slowed down and enjoyed things a bit more =). That said, I still covered quite a bit of ground after checking out of Kimi Ryokan. Also, I couldn't stay out as late as the night before because I needed to get back from wherever I was to Ikebukuro to pick up luggage from the ryokan, and then head out towards Saitama to meet up with Tomomi when she arrived. A little bit of crazy coordination that somehow worked out beautifully! Read on for the crazy adventures of Zac in Tokyo, day 2! And follow the rest of the seri ...

Travel | Tokyo, Japan Day 1 – Ikebukuro, Akihabara, Shibuya
After photographing in Sydney, Australia for a little over a week with both a destination Indian wedding and a couple days of personal travel, I took a few more days to travel for myself and ended up in Tokyo, Japan. I hadn't been to Japan since college and have always wanted to go back, so this was a perfect opportunity since I was on the other side of the world already =). I came back with tons and tons of photos, time lapses, and videos... with no real idea how I could possibly organize them and present them to the world! I think the video will come separately, and for now I will try to present everything I did each day as a way to share w ...

Beijing Day 3: Summer Palace & Winter Palace
Here is our long awaited (or not) follow up blog post to what else we were up to in Beijing during our May 2010 trip to China. Day 1 was the Temple of Heaven, Day 2 we headed out to Badaling to see the Ming Tombs and the Great Wall of China. Next up on our list of historic sites was the Summer Palace and the Winter Palace (Yuan Ming Yuan) on Day 3 of our time in Beijing. The Summer Palace was pretty packed when we were there, with many other Chinese tourists and school children seeing this historic site. Much like the Temple of Heaven, the Summer Palace historic site also includes a huge national park area with many smaller buildings and t ...
