New York City from 10,000 Feet

Life

Last week I was flying back from an engagement session in Atlanta, and got the window seat for a change because it was a short term booking of the ticket! Usually I prefer the aisle seat to work during the flight and get some photo editing done since that 15″ Macbook takes up the entire economy seat on a Delta plane =). Even though we live in New York I am basically an Indian wedding photographer based out of both Atlanta and New York and have been spending much more time on planes commuting between the two cities which are at least Delta hubs. The nice quiet flight is a good solid hour and a half I can just sit in a seat and at least organize photos from the current weekend’s trip whether it was down for an engagement session or the full weekend Indian wedding. Here are a few photos from the return flight out of Atlanta to LaGuardia, we flew over Manhattan a bit on the descent so got an awesome view of the city lit up at night.

Brief Thoughts on Photoshop World 2010
I attended Photoshop World 2010 this past week since it was here in Orlando. How could I not go to such a crazy show when it’s hosted right in my backyard? While the tips and techniques were amazing and probably enough to write 100 blog posts about, there was one common theme that almost all of the instructors I went to talked about: blogging and personal projects. If nothing else, the price of admission was worth it just to hammer in those two concepts to me. I know blogs are important, but have I been a good blogger? Not a chance! That is why I am starting now and making the resolution that I will publish a blog post at least once a week o ...

Personal | Chinese New Year 2013 | Hot Pot & Atlanta Chinese Lunar New Year Festival
Happy Lunar New Year! Happy Chinese New Year! Gong Xi Fa Cai! No, we don't live in Chinatown - and Atlanta doesn't have all that large of a Chinatown - but we are still keeping the tradition of the Spring Festival and celebrated Chinese New Year this weekend. I think it was just more of an excuse for us to pig out on Hot Pot and dress Miles up in his outfit that Waipo (Grandma) bought him =). For New Year's Eve we had a hot pot feast with Betty's classmate, a visiting professor from Chengdu, along with her husband and niece. All photos taken with the Olympus OM-D E-M5... After our Saturday wedding, we relaxed a bit ...

Personal | Daytrip to the Great Smoky Mountains with Jing & Ping
I've been pretty good about pumping out the wedding-related posts, and even recently doing a quick write-up of a new restaurant in Downtown Altanta. What I have not done recently, is shared any personal photos of just our normal life, which mostly revolves around Miles of course. Well, most days for us are really not that exciting with a schedule of waking up, taking Miles to the park and/or museum, while either Betty works on her dissertation or I edit wedding photos/videos. A couple of weeks ago when it was still relatively chilly out, we headed up to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park to take Betty's PhD classmate and visiting profess ...
