New York City Christmas

Even with this unseasonably warm Winter, it still looks like Christmas all around New York City! With the holiday displays in the windows and the lights installations around Manhattan, you can’t help but feel the holiday magic (even if it’s 60 degrees outside)! Being a Floridian at heart I think I’ll take this warm weather, but I did wish we had a White Christmas this year for Miles to see =). All photos taken here with the Sony A7ii and Zeiss 16-35mm f/4 OSS lens of course!

Bryant Park’s fountain has not frozen yet, and the Winter Village with ice skating is full of people for the holidays!

Amy Poehler and Tina Fey were filming Saturday Night Live promos at Rockefeller Center, and of course it was swarming with people! You can sort of catch Tina Fey in the center of this photo… somewhere…

Macy’s flagship store at Herald Square, always one of my favorite parts of the holidays! We didn’t do Santaland this year, I think once is enough :)

Thanks for seeing New York City at Christmas time through my quick one day excursion with my handy Sony A7ii!

2013 Travel Photography Year in Review
In the attempt to write some new content on the blog while I'm in the middle of editing a million weddings - here are some travel photos from 2013! Looking back, some of these I never blogged before for whatever reason, probably too busy shooting weddings of course :). I started 2013 off in Sydney, Australia for Natasha and Karim's wedding on January 1st, and then stopped by Tokyo and Saitama, Japan on the way back to shoot some time-lapse. In July Betty and I traveled to Istanbul, Turkey so that she could attend a professional conference. In Turkey we stayed after the conference for a few days and traveled to central Turkey to see the Cappad ...

Fall Roadtrip to Great Smoky Mountains National Park
Here is a quick vacation blog post as a break from all of the weddings and engagements I have been posting lately. Well, of course with us, the reason for the travel was a wedding itself. Last Wednesday I had a Pakistani wedding up in Kingsport, Tennessee at the Meadowview Marriott so Betty and Miles came with me for a quick overnight vacation. We drove up to Johnson City/Kingsport on Wednesday in time for the wedding and then took a leisurely route through the Great Smoky Mountains National Park on the way back. We really wanted to hit the Blue Ridge Parkway but maybe next time, or next year when Miles is a bit older as well. We could only s ...

Beijing Day 4: Tiananmen Square & Forbidden City
Day 4 – our final day in Beijing – meant seeing what EVERYONE has to see when they visit: Tian An Men Square and the Forbidden City. Did we save the best for last? I’ll leave that up to you as you review these photos and the ones in our previous Beijing travel photography posts: Day 1 & 2 – Temple of Heaven & Great Wall or Day 3 – Summer Palace & Winter Palace. Tian An Men Square, the People’s Square, is just that: full of people!! Now I though we saw a lot of domestic Chinese tourists at the other historic sites we visited, that was nothing compared to Tinanmen Square and the Mao Zedong mausoleum. We saw the typical histori ...
