Megan Dances with Light | Light Painting in Piedmont Park | Atlanta Creative Wedding Photographer

Ah this was so much fun!! Lindsay and I had been planning this shoot for what seems like FOREVER, it’s been staring down my calendar for weeks and weeks. Weddings have come and gone, and Lindsay has even shot with me at a wedding before this shoot finally happened. Finally one Friday night we met up at the always popular Piedmont Park to put our creative planning to the real world test. One of Lindsay’s dance students, the amazing Megan, showed up ready to dance. As we waited for the sun to set further, we killed the last remaining minutes of light with some fun on “the hill” as Lindsay choreographed (and shot!) and Megan danced!

Once we started losing the light we headed over to the Active Oval where we had planned our late night light painting photos to have the Midtown Atlanta skyline behind us. Of course we had a few hiccups here and there to get the lights just right, and we definitely need to thanks Megan for being patient and Lindsay’s husband Matt for being a third hand to hold things. All of these photos are a single exposure, no Photoshop magic here except a slight fix to the White Balance and a bit of sharpness, NO PHOTOSHOP (just Lightroom)!

Lastly, I asked Megan to pose for a quick “regular” portrait against the Midtown lights.
