End of Summer in New York City | Family Sunday at the Central Park Zoo & Roosevelt Island

Travel

Fall weather is arriving and the temperature up here in New York is just amazing right now! Friday I was down in Atlanta shooting a beautiful wedding at Jaffari Center, pouring rain all day outside on Friday and raining all day Saturday for my flight back home to New York. Saturday afternoon and Sunday? Amazing 75 degree Fall weather – while it is pouring rain in Atlanta. Ah, the difference of a thousand miles :). We decided to take advantage of the great weather, and the fact that I was only gone for 1 day this weekend for the wedding so I was home on Sunday, to head into New York City with Miles and take him to the Central Park Zoo and Roosevelt Island.

Ok this isn’t either of those places, our friend Linda has a pretty sweet penthouse apartment in Midtown that we checked out earlier in the week (sorry was still in the camera so became part of this batch of photos).

Central Park Zoo on Sunday! We checked out the seal show at the beginning which was pretty neat, they can really catch some air!

Bird bird bird, bird is the word! Not a ton of photos because we were running after Miles the entire time.

After checking out the Central Park Zoo I thought it would be fun to show Betty and Miles Roosevelt Island, and I knew Miles would think the Roosevelt Island Tram would be a ride itself!

The UN General Assembly was going on so their were helicopters and armed Coast Guard boats up and down the East River, not a ferry tour boat to be seen!

Four Freedoms Park would be a great engagement or wedding photo shoot location! The leaves were just starting to turn ever so slightly to Fall colors.

And that was our Sunday! We had a great day yesterday running around, grabbing lunch at Xi’an Famous Foods, coffee at Cafe Grumpy, and dinner at a pizza place for a slice of New York City :).

Second vlog in a row of double cities in the same weekend, at least this weekend I was not going as far as Atlanta and Detroit! Staying relatively close to each other, the first Saturday engagement session was up near Asheville, North Carolina along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Then, on Sunday morning I then drove down to Atlanta for another great engagement session in and around downtown/midtown Atlanta! Two great couples in engagement sessions in two great cities, come along for another Indian wedding photography behind the scenes vlog and another short blog post here for content, woohoo! ;) The Blue Ridge Parkway was amazing, I had alway ...

Beijing Day 3: Summer Palace & Winter Palace
Here is our long awaited (or not) follow up blog post to what else we were up to in Beijing during our May 2010 trip to China. Day 1 was the Temple of Heaven, Day 2 we headed out to Badaling to see the Ming Tombs and the Great Wall of China. Next up on our list of historic sites was the Summer Palace and the Winter Palace (Yuan Ming Yuan) on Day 3 of our time in Beijing. The Summer Palace was pretty packed when we were there, with many other Chinese tourists and school children seeing this historic site. Much like the Temple of Heaven, the Summer Palace historic site also includes a huge national park area with many smaller buildings and t ...
