End of Summer in New York City | Family Sunday at the Central Park Zoo & Roosevelt Island
Fall weather is arriving and the temperature up here in New York is just amazing right now! Friday I was down in Atlanta shooting a beautiful wedding at Jaffari Center, pouring rain all day outside on Friday and raining all day Saturday for my flight back home to New York. Saturday afternoon and Sunday? Amazing 75 degree Fall weather – while it is pouring rain in Atlanta. Ah, the difference of a thousand miles :). We decided to take advantage of the great weather, and the fact that I was only gone for 1 day this weekend for the wedding so I was home on Sunday, to head into New York City with Miles and take him to the Central Park Zoo and Roosevelt Island.
Ok this isn’t either of those places, our friend Linda has a pretty sweet penthouse apartment in Midtown that we checked out earlier in the week (sorry was still in the camera so became part of this batch of photos).
Central Park Zoo on Sunday! We checked out the seal show at the beginning which was pretty neat, they can really catch some air!
Snow Monkeys and the New York City skyline!
Bird bird bird, bird is the word! Not a ton of photos because we were running after Miles the entire time.
After checking out the Central Park Zoo I thought it would be fun to show Betty and Miles Roosevelt Island, and I knew Miles would think the Roosevelt Island Tram would be a ride itself!
Miles running along the water to Four Freedoms Park.
The Smallpox hospital.
The UN General Assembly was going on so their were helicopters and armed Coast Guard boats up and down the East River, not a ferry tour boat to be seen!
Miles playing with his Hot Wheels car of course.
Four Freedoms Park would be a great engagement or wedding photo shoot location! The leaves were just starting to turn ever so slightly to Fall colors.
I made Betty do a mini portrait session with me, hehe!
Running around with Miles.
Taking the Tram back to Manhattan.
And that was our Sunday! We had a great day yesterday running around, grabbing lunch at Xi’an Famous Foods, coffee at Cafe Grumpy, and dinner at a pizza place for a slice of New York City :).
