Central Park New York City with the Sony A7R

Travel

I know I just posted some photos from Fall in New York City but again here are some more from Thanksgiving! My Mom came up from Florida to visit with the family so we had to take her around the city of course to see some of the sights. That’s one thing I really love about the Sony A7R, such a small camera to take around the city and it produces such gorgeous photos. For this trip we went around Central Park for a bit before heading down to Chinatown and Little Italy for some dessert and then up to Times Square for some late night city lights. Enjoy a few photos form New York City in the Fall! I can’t wait for things to start warming up around here and for the ice to start melting so we can explore the City some more! For now though, it’s off to shoot an Indian wedding in Atlanta this Valentine’s weekend and enjoy the Souther “Winter” which is nothing like the -10 degree windchill I left in New York on Friday!

California Dreaming – California Travel Photographer
This is a bit of a personal post today, so sit back for a quick self-reflection and some of my favorite images from the California Coastline. I had been putting this off for some time but finally got around to going though our old photos from California 2009. After our trip in August 2009 we put a few photos up for sale as postcards on Zazzle, and surprisingly they started selling! I knew we wouldn't get rich quick off of Zazzle (I think we make $0.01 per sale) but it was a nice validation that other people out there enjoyed our early photography as much as we enjoyed shooting it. While I think our editing techniques were okay back then, ...

Summer Vacation | China 2015 Day 3 | Xiamen Nanputuo
This is Day 3 of our China trip! After traveling from New York to Shanghai to Xiamen, we were still a little jet lagged but slowly accommodating to the time zones in China but still waking up really early. We headed back to the walking street that we visited the day before, but today without the rain! After exploring the streets and market we made our way to the Nanputuo temple for some more sightseeing. Click here to see the rest of the photos from Day 3 in Xiamen, China!

Using a DSLR for HD Video Part 1: Shooting
Using a DSLR for HD Video Part 1: Shooting After my second attempt to put together a video, I thought I would share some tips and learning from the process. First, please take a look at this video, which was my first foray into HD DSLR video using the Canon 5D Mark II and Canon 7D: Babylon of the Orient from Zac & Betty FengLong Photography on Vimeo. One caveat, this is not my first edit of course! It took a lot of trial and error to get this one looking like it does above in the cutting room floor of Adobe Premiere Pro. However, I will speak about what works and what didn’t work as far as shooting the actual footage. This video will ...
