Atlanta Marriott Marquis Wedding | Raquel & Garnet | New York Destination Wedding Photographer

Wedding

Always a refreshing change of pace to see something besides an Indian wedding here on the blog, eh? While I love photographing South Asian brides and grooms, I’m not opposed to doing American weddings either =D. Over the Summer I flew down from New York to photograph the lovely wedding of Raquel and Garnet which took place at the always-amazing Atlanta Marriott Marquis! This was nostalgia time for me as well as the Marquis was only a few blocks away from where we lived in Downtown Atlanta. After the ceremony we walked a few blocks down to the Suntrust building and took a few portraits there outdoors before heading back to the reception. At the end of the night we did a few more portraits at the SkyBridge area around the lobby of the Marquis. Why all the extra portrait time? Maybe because Garnet decided to tell me that he was a wedding photographer as well on the morning of the wedding – no pressure! Check out his own page here at Gcon Photo Lab! Also, Raquel is joining the “family business” with her new husband and has also been planning weddings as Michele Clair Events, too cool! Always an honor to photograph the wedding of a couple that is also “in the business” on their own wedding day. On to the photos!

Similar to many wedding venues in Georgia, it's an older estate/plantation style house converted into a wedding facility. The one thing that makes the Carl House sort of unique is the garden setting for the ceremony which features a large brick structure. On the wedding day a storm had just rolled through, and with the indoor area set up as backup plan B, luckily the rain had stopped just prior to ...

Here is a quick preview of a recent wedding I photographed a couple weeks ago at Flint Hill in Norcross just outside of Atlanta, GA. With rain threatening us all day we weren't totally sure if this would be an outdoor wedding as planned or an indoor one. Luckily the weather held out on a rainy Atlanta Summer afternoon and April and Ben were able to have the wedding of their dreams. Just a few quick previews, full blog post in a little bit!
