Atlanta Marriott Marquis Wedding | Raquel & Garnet | New York Destination Wedding Photographer

Always a refreshing change of pace to see something besides an Indian wedding here on the blog, eh? While I love photographing South Asian brides and grooms, I’m not opposed to doing American weddings either =D. Over the Summer I flew down from New York to photograph the lovely wedding of Raquel and Garnet which took place at the always-amazing Atlanta Marriott Marquis! This was nostalgia time for me as well as the Marquis was only a few blocks away from where we lived in Downtown Atlanta. After the ceremony we walked a few blocks down to the Suntrust building and took a few portraits there outdoors before heading back to the reception. At the end of the night we did a few more portraits at the SkyBridge area around the lobby of the Marquis. Why all the extra portrait time? Maybe because Garnet decided to tell me that he was a wedding photographer as well on the morning of the wedding – no pressure! Check out his own page here at Gcon Photo Lab! Also, Raquel is joining the “family business” with her new husband and has also been planning weddings as Michele Clair Events, too cool! Always an honor to photograph the wedding of a couple that is also “in the business” on their own wedding day. On to the photos!

Sometimes rain is a bad thing, but on a wedding day you make the best of it! Megan and Tom's wedding at the Hazlehurst House in McDonough, Georgia took place on an overcast March evening but the rain held off until the evening luckily! We were able to have the ceremony outdoors and then bring the party inside all night long. We did sneak out during the reception for couple's portraits when the rain finally arrived, and turned lemons into lemonade with a pretty cool portrait in the rain. Hopefully the rain on the forecast for this weekend in Atlanta holds off long enough for amazing wedding photos once again! More photos from this H ...
Sony A7R Wedding Photography – 2014 Mid-Year Update!
It's been a while since I posted any new photos from the Sony A7r from this year's weddings, so I figured now was as good as time as any! Well, it has been pretty slow on blog updates in general around here as the busy season for weddings never seems to end =). You can check out my initial thoughts on using the Sony A7r for wedding photography (and thoughts on the camera in general as I have had it since release) on this post, and then my follow-up post is here with more thoughts on using the camera. So here we go with a bunch of sample photographs from my 2014 wedding season so far with the Sony A7r! I'm going to lead with some photos and th ...
