2015 Chinese New Year Parade Chinatown NYC with the Sony A7R

Life Travel

Yesterday was the annual Chinese New Year parade in Chinatown in New York City, so we decided to grab Miles and head over to check it out! Even though Chinese New Year itself fell earlier in the week, the parades are on the weekend of course and Sunday was the 2015 parade date. Luckily the weather up here in New York totally cooperated after a little snow and freezing rain on Saturday when the Flushing CNY parade was happening, the Sunday festivities in NYC’s Chinatown saw (relatively) warm temperatures in the 40s – a perfect weekend day in the city! I had my trusty Sony A7R with me, and our little spot we staked out towards the end of the route was perfect, also because it was near the playground in Sara D. Roosevelt Park so Miles could escape to play a bit while we waited for the start!

I’ve been a little behind on posting new wedding photography photos to the blog, but you can head over to the facebook fan page to see last weekend’s Pakistani Indian wedding in Atlanta, and this coming weekend I am heading down to Savannah & Hilton Head Island for an awesome destination Hindu Indian wedding! Always super busy with South Asian weddings but here are some fun travel photos from life in New York City in the meantime =).

Travel | Japan Day 3 – Mt Fuji Sengen Shrine, Oshino Hakkai, Maid Cafe, Tokyo SkyTree
This is the last of my blog mini-series about my Japan trip to Tokyo and Saitama in January, 2013. Click this link for the rest of the posts categorized in Japan Travel. This is actually my third FULL day in Japan, but also my final fourth day which was supposed to be just a travel day but turned into a bit more with the snow, read below to see how that turned out =). After FINALLY meeting up with Tomomi and her family the night before, we set off to compress everything that we had planned to do the previous day into just one day in Japan, which meant a bit of travel and scheduling craziness... which we somehow survived! The day started with ...

New York City Christmas 2015 | Sony A7ii Travel Photography
New York City Christmas Even with this unseasonably warm Winter, it still looks like Christmas all around New York City! With the holiday displays in the windows and the lights installations around Manhattan, you can't help but feel the holiday magic (even if it's 60 degrees outside)! Being a Floridian at heart I think I'll take this warm weather, but I did wish we had a White Christmas this year for Miles to see =). All photos taken here with the Sony A7ii and Zeiss 16-35mm f/4 OSS lens of course! Bryant Park's fountain has not frozen yet, and the Winter Village with ice skating is full of people for the holidays! ...

2010 Atlanta Worldwide Photowalk – Event Photographer in Atlanta
This past Saturday, July 24th was Scott Kelby’s 3rd Annual Worldwide Photowalk which Betty and I participated in in downtown Atlanta! We first signed up for the Orlando walk which was organized to walk through downtown Sanford when sign-ups were first opened. Since our move to Atlanta, of course the Atlanta walk was already maxed out at 50 walkers. Luckily for us the person leading the walk was also the head of the Southeastern Photographic Society, which we had just joined! After shooting Ken a quick email, he gave us the go-ahead to tag along as unofficial walkers J. Packing only one lens each, we headed out at 8:45am down to Centennial Oly ...
